What do you get when you cross a bright idea and loadshedding? Uninterrupted emails and Netflix, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 365 days of the year, well worth the investment if you ask us? Remember you can also keep other important appliances going too, like your internet router, wifi access points, laptops, mobile phones, lights, fridges, geysers, you name it!
We approach each power solution differently because each client has different power requirements, depending on the application and which appliances require power when the source is interrupted. Quite simply put, the more power you require and the longer you need that power, the more complex and costly the solution will be. The secret is in finding that sweet spot between the client’s budget and their absolute necessities, leaving loads of room in the proposed solution to increase the power output if required at a later stage.
In this case, the client has a four bedroom house, with a cottage in the back garden and three 150L geysers, swimming pool and lapa. Before our magnificent solution, our client was paying around R 8,500.00 per month. A data logger was placed on the DB board for a period of 2 weeks to establish the average power consumption as well as the highest usage requirement. The electricity spiked at 12.4kWh and as such we recommended a 16 kva Sunsynk inverter with a 14.8 kWh battery backup and sixteen 350kw solar panels.
The client’s electricity bill has now come down to about R 4,500,00 and he is able to run all his essentials on backup batteries for about 6 hours when there is no power, this includes the geysers which have been placed on timers, according to the client’s requirements, keeping municipality electricity usage to a bare minimum with the solar panels warming the water when required. We have replaced the electric hobs with gas equivalents and all the lights in the house now sport energy saving globes.
When looking at a solar solution it is always advisable to look at bringing the current usage down first and then looking at the solar option.
One step passed “surviving” load shedding is going off grid. This can be accomplished by integrating our unique, bespoke solar products, designed for a whole host of private and commercial applications. Say good-bye to your power utility bill forever and be rest assured that your solar power solution will go the distance, maximising your investment and ensuring uninterrupted hours of business or pleasure.
